Speed Dating and Me

On February 18, I went to a speed dating event at my apartment complex. I know this blog is a little late. Sorry! Anyway, the event was FREE! That was very nice and unexpected. Most speed dating events can cost anywhere from $25-$50!

The “basics” of speed dating. First, you start with a name tag and number. Second, the woman take their seat at their numbered table and remain seated; the guys move. Third, you write the person’s name on the sheet of paper that is given to you. Fourth, you are given a set of questions to ask each other. Not everyone followed that rule. You kind of make it up as you go. You were not supposed to ask where the person lives, last name, or place of employment/location. Finally, you check off “yes, no, or friends.” If there is a match then you will be set-up on a date. Simple! [Read more…]

Thoughts on You Can Heal Your Life

So, I was very fortunate to watch Louise Hay’s movie You Can Heal Your Life. Our community bookstore, Changing Hands Bookstore, showed the movie for FREE! Way to go CHB! This bookstore is AWESOME! It is not your typical “corporate type” bookstore. It is very eclectic and diverse. The people who work at the store are cool! I get the impression that most of them are “artistic” in some way; very nice! Anyway, I decided to write-up a little review of the movie, comment on the views of the movie, and give my thoughts about the subject. Ready… [Read more…]

The Art of Letting Go

Often times I’ve heard “Let Go and Let God or Let Go.” Sometimes it is easier said than done. On the other hand, things happen in life that may make you say “I surrender.” That’s what I did the week of March 7. I decided to surrender, release, and relax. I have been obsessed with “changing my thoughts/changing my life and “carving out” a new life for myself in Arizona. Yes, I did say obsessed! Who knew! I was wound so tight and focused on my desires for my life that they were consuming me 24/7. Two specific topics are MONEY and CAREER!! Ok, I may as well throw in relationships. All I thought about 24/7 is “how will I bring in more money?” Will I be able to make money doing what I love utilizing my creative talents and abilities? I re-discovered my love of writing, especially creative writing. Will I be able to make money from my writing? What about making new friends? What about relationships; family, intimate, career, etc…? Too many questions… [Read more…]

Taking the Training Wheels Off of Life

So, I have been on a “journey to the center of me” for the past year! At the end of March, it will be exactly one year since I decided to “straighten myself out” and stop playing the ever popular role of the “victim or martyr.” It was time to “put an end to my story” as Debbie Ford would say. I still consider myself a work in process, but I am far better off now than what I was in the past five or 10 year! Yikes!

Anyway, I decided to “take off the training wheels” of my life and get a move on with my life. I did not drive over 2,000 miles to AZ from OH for nothing! I made the move and it is time for me to “get out” and get on with my life. I have been taking baby steps to “reintroduce” myself to daily life and all of things that go with it. I had a lot of “stuff” to sort through. Some stuff went deeper than I expected and it all came to the surface. That was a nice surprise! More issues to deal with it and clean up.

But, I feel that it is time for me to just go for it. I know I have the knowledge and will continue on my journey through life. I voraciously read books and listen to shows that resonate with me. These resources have had a tremendous impact on my life. I also have a strong support system, and I am grateful for that.

Watch out world, here comes the new me!

Going for it,

The August of Cultural Explosion in Edinburgh, Scotland UK

It is my third time to The United Kingdom of Great Britain; specifically Edinburgh, Scotland.
