In a world that thrives on individuality and personal expression, it’s disheartening to witness the phenomenon known as the “hive mind.” The term refers to individuals who, consciously or unconsciously, surrender their autonomy and mindlessly conform to the opinions and actions of others. It’s sad when spirited beings get trapped in the hive mentality and can’t see a way out.
The hive mentality manifests itself in various ways, such as following pop culture and the entertainment industry closely, indulging in excessive consumption of coffee and alcohol, engaging in constant clubbing and partying, prioritizing loyalty to a group over personal beliefs, and experiencing difficulty making independent decisions.
It also encompasses a range of behaviors and attitudes that reflect an individual’s submission to the collective consciousness. This article explores the intricacies of the hive mind and its implications for individuals and society as a whole. Let’s delve into some of its common manifestations.
Following Pop Culture and the Entertainment Industry Closely
One characteristic of the hive mentality is a genuine obsession with pop culture and the entertainment industry. These individuals closely follow trends, fads, and the lives of celebrities. They often shape their identities and opinions based on the prevailing cultural narrative. Some key aspects include:
Embracing Popular Opinions: Hive mind members tend to adopt popular opinions without critical examination. They may fervently defend their favorite artists or movies without considering alternative perspectives.
Consumerist Tendencies: The hive mentality fuels consumerism, as individuals feel compelled to buy merchandise associated with their favorite entertainers. This behavior further strengthens their identification with the hive mind group. When individuals learn the ‘truth’ about their favorite entertainers, it may cause cognitive dissonance which may not be easy for some to process.
Validation Through Conformity: Individuals seek validation and a sense of belonging within their social circles by aligning their interests with popular culture. They fear the consequences of deviating from the group’s accepted norms.
Excessive Consumption of Coffee and Alcohol
In the hive mind, the consumption of coffee and alcohol becomes a ritualistic and almost mandatory activity. These substances serve as stimulants or relaxants and are used to cope with conformity demands. Consider the following aspects:
Coffee: The hive mentality gravitates towards coffee as an essential component of their daily routine. It provides the energy boost required to keep up with the fast-paced nature of their social engagements and commitments. If you work in the corporate world, the coffee station or kitchen is where office workers get their daily dose of Java. And if you don’t drink coffee, you may pour a cup because you want to fit in (please avoid doing this). Do yourself and your body a favor; forget about the coffee. Once you start weaning yourself off of it, you may feel better.
Alcohol: Similarly, alcohol plays a significant role in the hive mind culture, facilitating social interactions and providing an escape from the pressures of conformity. It becomes a crutch for individuals who struggle to express themselves authentically. And most (reals and non-spirited beings) don’t understand that alcohol is called “spirits” for a reason. When you drink, you can attract entities who will jump you because you’ve compromised your energy field. Not only is your lifeforce drained, but your bank account is too. Do yourself a favor. Save and protect your energy, body, and money. Your aura, body, and bank account will thank you.
Note: The food and drink programs are strong and it may take you some time before you can stop drinking coffee, alcohol, and sugary filled drinks; and eating pizza (a tough one), junk foods, etc. Be gentle with yourself and go at your own pace. Take it one day, even one second at a time, so that you don’t sabotage yourself. You will make progress, even if it takes you months or years.
Clubbing, Partying, and Socializing as Imperatives
The hive mind prioritizes clubbing, partying, and socializing as essential activities. These pursuits reinforce the collective identity and serve as outlets for self-expression. Consider the following points:
Group Identity Reinforcement: Socializing within this context bolsters group loyalty and strengthens the sense of belonging. By engaging in shared activities, individuals affirm their commitment to the collective.
Escaping Introspection: The constant pursuit of external stimuli through clubbing and partying allows hive mentality members to avoid introspection and deep self-reflection. These activities become distractions from addressing personal issues or making independent decisions. And like drinking alcohol, clubbing and partying can drain your energy and bank account. Plus, you have yet to learn what you’re inviting into your life. Forget about clubbing and partying and do something else instead. For example, you can paint, spend time in nature, start a business, etc. While your ‘friends’ are partying and nursing a nasty hangover the next day, you’ll be refreshed and vibrate at a higher frequency.
Fear of Missing Out (FOMO): The hive mentality thrives on FOMO, creating a sense of anxiety and urgency to participate in every social gathering. This fear further perpetuates the need for constant engagement and conformity. And if you get caught up in fads because you have FOMO, you may find yourself stuck with a lot of junk products and debt. It’s better to beat to your drum and do your own thing.
Prioritizing Group Loyalty over Individuality
The hive mind places utmost importance on group loyalty, often at the expense of individuality and critical thinking. Consider the following elements:
Fear of Rejection: Hive mind members fear exclusion or rejection if they deviate from the group’s norms. This fear keeps them in line with their handlers, even if it means compromising their beliefs or values. This is seen repeatedly, and some have experienced it too many times. Heal your wound of non-recognition and know that you’re good enough.
Bandwagon Effect: The hive mentality thrives on the bandwagon effect, where individuals conform to the majority opinion or behavior, regardless of its rationality or merit—the need to fit in supersedes independent judgment. Stop giving your power away and jump off the bandwagon now!
Herd Mentality: Hive mind often mirrors a herd mentality, where individuals mindlessly follow the actions and choices of others without considering their own desires or needs. This mindset erodes personal agency and critical thinking skills. You see the herd mentality in communities, including the New Age (more like New Cage), the truthers, and everything in between. If you follow others without questioning if it’s right for you, they may lead you somewhere you might regret.
Difficulty Making Independent Decisions
An inherent consequence of the hive mentality is individuals’ difficulty when making independent decisions. The constant reliance on the collective consciousness (New Age term) inhibits their ability to assert their preferences and form unique viewpoints. Key aspects include:
Decision Paralysis: When confronted with choices, the hive mind member becomes paralyzed, fearing that their decisions may deviate from the group consensus. This fear of being judged or ostracized impedes their ability to assert themselves. Always make the best decisions because you have to live with you.
Lack of Self-Trust: The hive mentality erodes self-trust, making individuals doubt their judgments and intuition. They become dependent on external validation and consensus, seeking approval rather than embracing their authentic desires. Once again, it’s time to heal your wound of non-recognition. The only approval you need is yours.
Replication of Choices: Hive mind members often replicate the choices of others, even if those choices do not resonate with their personal preferences. They sacrifice individuality for the sake of conformity. Again, you see this in the New Age, truther, and alternative spirituality (have to think of a better term) communities. And remember, you don’t know what your adviser, guru, or teacher does behind closed doors. Furthermore, if they tell you to ‘do the work’ (more on that in another article) but don’t follow their advice, they’re a hypocrite and not walking their talk.
Get Out of the Hive Mind Mentality Now
The hive mind poses significant challenges to both individuals and society as a whole. By relinquishing their autonomy, individuals become passive consumers, devoid of critical thinking skills and personal agency.
The hive mentality perpetuates a cycle of conformity, reinforcing established norms and inhibiting the exploration of alternative perspectives. Overcoming the group mentality requires self-awareness, introspection, and a willingness to embrace individuality.
It would be nice if the simulation promoted a culture that celebrates the diversity of thought and encourages independent decision-making, empowering individuals to break free from the confines of the collective consciousness. But that’s not how “The Game” is set up. By fostering individuality and self-expression, we (the spirited) can create a world where personal autonomy thrives and innovation flourishes.
