Are You Believing It…To Be It?

On April 18, I met Bob Harper (from NBC’s The Biggest Loser) at Changing Hands Bookstore. He was there to promote his new book Are You Ready!: To Take Charge, Lose Weight, Get in Shape, and Change Your Life Forever. I think there were over 100 people at the store! It was some night! The women went nuts for Bob. I felt like I was “backstage” at a rock concert. And…Betti Sue, Ali Vincent’s (winner of The Biggest Loser) mom showed up! She is very nice and personable. Betti Sue took time to speak with people and even signed Bob’s book for people. BONUS! Bob’s and Betti Sue’s autograph! Go Pink Team!

Anyway, Betti Sue told how Ali had a bell by her bedside at the ranch and each morning Ali hit the bell and said “Believe It To Be It.” Ali truly believed that she was going to be the winner of The Biggest Loser! Ali also used the “visualization” technique to make her dream come true. She visualized what she would be wearing, being on the scale at the finale, and the confetti falling on the stage. It worked! Ali was the first woman to win The Biggest Loser!

Betti Sue also said that Ali likes to say affirmations in addition to “visualization.” I can relate to Ali because I myself use affirmations and visualization. I am down with affirmations and visualization, it’s the BELIEVE IT part that I am a “wee” bit stuck on in my life. I listen to Hay House Radio which I find to be very informative and inspirational. But, belief or having faith is something that I work on each day. I always say “if I could just get a break or just give me a “taste” of success, then I will know what it feels like. I guess it does not work that way!

Speaking of Hay House, the I CAN DO IT! 2008 WEEKEND CONFERENCES! in Las Vegas is coming up. Vegas is close to me. Hmmm….I will have to think about that one. I think it would be an interesting event to attend. We’ll see!

Anyway, the ironic part about all of this is that there are people in my life that believe in me. Go figure! Now, it is up to me to believe in myself and to have faith that everything is working out in “divine timing.” Each day I ask for more understanding and to be more aware of my thoughts. It’s a process! I’ll get there eventually. As soon as I get out of my way!
