My thoughts on the Millionaire Mind Intensive

The weekend of December 4 – December 6, 2009, I attended T. Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive. Harv is the author of the #1 Best Selling book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. His company is Peak Potentials “one of the fastest growing business and personal success training companies in North America.”

I was invited to the event by the organizer of my Master Mind group. I was very skeptical because I’ve been invited to these types of events before and have been disappointed. Most events are nothing but “glorified” sales and marketing pitches. The Millionaire Mind Intensive was different. I was blown away by the event and it was FREE to attend if you were invited by someone. The event is usually priced at $1,295.

The Millionaire Mind Intensive is for those who are “sick and tired of being sick and tired.” You’re tired of having financial setbacks, living in mediocrity, and not knowing why you haven’t been successful in life. You will receive the answers to your questions.

Attending a Millionaire Mind Intensive requires an open mind. There was a lot of “hi-fiving,” clapping, and dancing — mostly by people who went up on the stage. It may seem a little hokey (I thought this), but keep an open mind and you’ll have a good time.

For those who are familiar with Think and Grow Rich, The Secret, The Master Key System, and the Science of Getting Rich will enjoy the Millionaire Mind Intensive. People at the MMI event are familiar with these books and other self-help books. They constantly work on changing their mindset around money and attend the Millionaire Mind Intensive as a stepping stone to the other courses offered by Peak Potentials.

All of us promised that what happened at the Millionaire Mind Intensive would stay at the Millionaire Mind Intensive, kind of like “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.” Again, I was very skeptical going into the seminar, but my mind was changed by Sunday night. I highly recommend you attend a Millionaire Mind Intensive if you’re fortunate enough to receive a FREE certificate. Not only will you learn the secrets of the rich, you will learn what is holding you back in life and business!

Many people compare manifesting your dreams and goals to planting and harvesting a garden. However, gardens do not take that long to grow. You till the soil, plant the seeds, cover them, and then water the seeds. Some people even use MIRACLE GROW to speed up the growth process and to enrich the soil. It does not take 10 to 25 years to grow a garden!

People who are trying to manifest the lives they desire are often told to think of their life as a garden. This is true to a certain point — gardens do not take that long to grow! Telling people this can dampen their spirits because theoretically gardens do not take that long to grow.

Yes, in order to manifest your desires, you must “plant the seeds of your desires.” You must cultivate a positive and powerful mind-set and keep tending to your “desire garden.” But, how long does it take before you see results? Some people see results straight-away, some people do not. What does this mean? They’re cultivating a powerful, positive mind-set. So why does it take so long?

Maybe the universe is trying to find the right people to come into your life. Perhaps they are not in your area — they could be thousands miles away from where you live. This is where patience comes into play. Yes, it is a virtue!

A garden does not take that long to grow. If you want to manifest your desires in your life do the following. First, till your “mental soil” — clear out the weeds — strangling your mind. You must have a clean mind before you can plant your desires. Second, plant your seeds of desires. Finally, let your desires go and grow within your mental garden. This is where people (including myself) get tripped up. Sometimes we get in our own way. Let go and let the “powers at be” (God, universe, spirit, or whatever name you give to a higher power) do its job and bring to you that which you desire. Think of it this way — it’s one less thing on your to do list!

There are a lot of single people who cannot stand Valentine’s Day. Just the thought of this holiday makes them cringe. Retailers and restaurants push cards, dinners, candy, flowers, and other Valentine’s ideas for couples. It’s bad enough that they know they’re single, but retailers reinforce their “singleness” with weekly advertisements.

Don’t be blue on Valentine’s Day? Some people need all the help they can get when it comes to romance. If this means having a greeting card company remind them that it’s a good idea to tell or show their mate how much they care, so be it. You can be happy that you’re not in a relationship where your mate needs this help.

Valentine’s ideas for single women are endless. You can take yourself to the movies, go to an art gallery, or get your hair and nails done. Ladies, you can buy your own Valentine’s flowers. You can buy your own bouquet of red roses.

Guys can golf without anyone giving them grief about it. They can go fishing or play basketball with the guys. Rock climbing would be fun as well. Host a poker game, crank up the music, and just be guys.

There’s no reason for men and women to sit at home and wallow in self pity on Valentine’s Day. It’s just another day that happens to be a holiday to express your love. Being single does not mean that you must go into hiding on Valentine’s Day. Get out there and enjoy the day. Show yourself some love!

Valentines Day ideas for Women

  1. Get a massage
  2. Volunteer
  3. Treat yourself to a manicure and pedicure
  4. Get a haircut, style, and color
  5. Buy a new outfit
  6. Go to an art gallery
  7. Have lunch in the park with a group of friends
  8. Go dancing with friends
  9. Cook dinner at home with friends
  10. Go to the movies
  11. Take a walk in the park
  12. Plan a Valentine’s Day weekend with friends
  13. Take a road trip

Valentines Day Ideas for Men

  1. Golf
  2. Volunteer
  3. Play basketball with the guys
  4. Host a poker game
  5. Take a road trip
  6. Go to a sports event
  7. Have game night
  8. Go away for the weekend

There are plenty of Valentine’s ideas to keep you busy on Valentine’s Day. Spend the day with friends. If you know that you’ll be feeling bluer than usual, surround yourself with people who love and care about you. More importantly, love you! You are special just because you are you.

Valentine’s ideas include volunteering. Why not volunteer at your favorite charitable organization? There’s nothing like giving to someone else. You’ll be doing a good deed, and you’ll brighten someone’s day. Helping others is a great way to lift your spirits. You’ll feel good knowing that you thought about someone else for the day.

Being single on Valentine’s Day can be a blessing. Would you rather be in a horrible relationship where you constantly fight with your mate? Would you like to have all of your energy drained from being with the wrong person? If you’re single, it’s a great opportunity to focus on your ideal mate instead of not having one. Remember that you attract what you think about and eventually it will manifest in your life. Think about Valentine’s ideas to keep your mind off of the holiday.

Valentine’s Ideas For Family

Valentine’s Day is a great day to show people how much you care about them. Here are some Valentine’s ideas for family and friends.

  1. Send greeting cards or make your own
  2. Write a note expressing your love and appreciation for your family
  3. Send flowers to the ones you love
  4. Cook dinner
  5. Bake something
  6. Send chocolates

Have fun on Valentine’s Day. Forget that you are single and celebrate being alive! You have much to be thankful for. Have an attitude of gratitude. Remember, single people can do anything they want to do. You do not have to check with your “mate” to see if you can go to New York for the weekend. Single people can do whatever they want, whenever they want. Go out, have fun, and enjoy being single.

Being in a bad mood can be bad for your health. Frowning all of the time can leave your mouth full of lines. If you’re going to have lines, why not have laugh lines instead of frowning ones? Remember, you always have a choice. You can either stay in a bad mood or snap out of it. If you don’t you could earn the nickname Ms. or Mr. Crabby Pants!

They say laughter is the best medicine. If this is true, why are so many people in bad moods? They also say misery loves company. You may consider being more mindful of the company you keep. The people you hang out with could be slowly killing you. The more stress you are under, the more pressure your heart is under.

You can apply the old age wisdom of mind over matter. There is no reason for you to stay in a bad mood all day. You can choose to move to a place that feels better. When you’re in a bad mood, you put your body in the “flight or fright” mode. Your muscles will become tense and your pulse races. This is not good for your body.

Tips to Get Out of a Bad Mood

  1. Laugh.
  2. Take a walk.
  3. Surf YouTube for funny videos.
  4. Think about something to be grateful for
  5. Just smile.
  6. Listen to music.

A change of scenery can do wonders for you. Go for a drive or walk through the park. Getting out in nature will snap you out of a bad mood. Breathing the fresh air and feeling the sun on your face will lift your spirits.

If you’re a coffee lover, go for a great cup of coffee at your favorite café. Breath in the deep, rich aroma of the coffee. Pickup a local newspaper or buy a magazine, and you’ll make a speedy recovery. You’ll be so relaxed that you’ll forget what set you off.

Journaling is a great way to vent your anger and frustrations. Getting it on paper is better than taking it out on someone else. If you are susceptible to bad moods, you may discover what is causing them. It could be that you are feeling stuck in your life and you’re ready for change.

Do not stay in a bad mood because life is too short. You can be living life to its fullest. The next time you feel a “bad mood” coming on strong, stop it before it gets out of control. Count to 10, take a deep breath, and say to yourself “this to shall pass.” Give it a try and see what happens.

Many people get down on the floor and crunch away for an hour or so. They hope the crunches will flatten their stomach. Unfortunately, crunches do not work that well. You are only moving back and forth and not really strengthening your core.

Many people do not like to exercise, but it is necessary if you would like a flat stomach. There is no way to avoid it. A lot of people get bored with their workouts, so change your workouts from time to time.

To get your “middle” in shape, review your diet. If you are eating too many carbs, these will pack on the pounds. Most foods are loaded with salt and sugar. Avoid excess salt and sugar by putting the salt shaker away. Using a sugar substitute is one way to “wean” yourself off of sugar. However, if you must have “sugar” look for sugar substitutes that are organic or natural.

Flatten Your Stomach with These Moves

  1. Cardio exercises: running, biking, hiking, and walking.
  2. Dancing.
  3. Pilates.
  4. Weight Training.
  5. Yoga.
  6. Hold a medicine ball and “twist” your middle from side to side.

To get your middle into shape, alternate weight training and cardiovascular exercise. These exercises will “rev up” your metabolism which will help you to burn fat. You will lose your middle in no time.

For a list of “belly blasting” exercises, visit Prevention.com. They have wonderful articles with step-by-step instructions.

Stomach Flattening Food Suggestions

  1. Avoid salt.
  2. Do not buy foods labeled as “low carb” or “sugar free.”
  3. Limit your carb intake.
  4. Eat cooked vegetables versus raw.
  5. Watch out for foods that may cause excess gas — broccoli, legumes, citrus fruits, peppers are some foods that may cause gas.

Standard crunches are becoming outdated. Today, it’s about getting an all over body workout. Test different exercises and see what works for your body. Remember, all bodies are not the same. A workout system that may work for you may not work for someone else.

If you are unsure of how to get your abs into shape, hire a fitness coach. You could hire a coach for a day or two or even one week. Let them help you design a workout system for your body. They will be able to show you how to properly do the moves that will help you “blast” your belly into shape.

To stay motivated, track your progress. When you see the results, you’ll feel good. Not only will you see the weight loss when you look in the mirror, you’ll see a flatter stomach. You may want to reward yourself when you reach goals such as 5 lbs. or 10 lbs. Treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure, or a massage.

Finally, do not waste your money on “ab machines.” In order to lose excess fat from your middle, you must get an “all-over body” workout. Complement this with foods that are right for your body, and you have a successful formula for shaping your middle!

Many women have days where they feel fat. At one point in time, all of us have had way too much to eat for one reason or another. After you gorge yourself, the next day you feel fat and do not want to look in the mirror. Feeling fat days are much worse than a bad hair day because you can grab a hat and cover up your hair!

As you look in your long mirror, you see that your stomach looks like a “muffin top.” You then make your way to the bathroom; all the while your thighs reacquaint themselves. Your face is puffy and you notice a few more wrinkles on your face. All you really want to do is go back to bed.

The key to “feeling fat” days is to thank God that you can still move. You may have ate an entire cheese pizza the night before, but you can work it off the next day. Make sure you drink plenty of water as well. Staying hydrated is good for you, and it will make you feel full!

Combat Fat Days

  1. Wear different colors. Avoid wearing bland colors like beige. Grab that red or deep yellow blouse. Also, make sure you have a blouse or shirt that has ruffles; any body can wear ruffles. They are very feminine and will lift your attitude.
  2. Workout the next day. A good workout will help to combat your feeling fat. Sweat like you have never sweated before in your life!
  3. Do your hair and makeup. Put makeup on and blow dry your hair. Style your hair with a curling or flat iron. When you look in the mirror, you’ll like what you see.
  4. Have a good attitude. Put things in perspective; you’re still alive and breathing. Take responsibility for your actions. No one told you to gorge yourself on ice cream. If you use food for comfort, stop right now! This is no way to deal with your emotions. Get to the root of your emotions instead of “stuffing your emotions with food.” Workout or hire a life coach to find out why you use food to deal with your emotions.
  5. Wear a belt. If you wear a belt, you will see your waist. You will see that your waist did not leave you.

When you have a day where you feel fat, start thinking about what you can do about it. You can get moving to take off the pound you gained. You can be grateful that you can workout to lose the one pound. It’s all about perspective. Also, since you know how you feel on a “fat day,” you’ll think twice about eating that ice cream sundae!

When the New Year is around the corner, many people write a New Year’s Resolution list. Of course, the top two resolutions are to lose weight and quit smoking. Most resolutions last less than a month!

Wouldn’t it be nice to create the life you desire in the New Year? You can have, be, or do what you want; you just have to make the decision to go for it! However, you must work from the inside out before your “outer world” starts to look like how you desire it to be!

If your life is not the way you would like, change it. You do have the power to change your life. Many of us get caught up in “drama rama” of our life. This includes work, family, friends, and the community. In retrospect, we unknowingly create the dramas in our life. Some people may not believe this, but it’s true.

Most of us do not like to take responsibility for what happens in our life. We cannot believe that we would cause the strife that occurs each day in our life. Yes, it’s a “tough pill” to swallow. The faster you accept that you create undesirable situations, the better off you’ll be.

7 Ways to Create Your Life

  1. Get rid of the guilt. Guilt can eat you alive! Doing things out of guilt will not get you far. Take time for yourself and make sure you do things for others because you want to do so.
  2. Focus on your desires instead of what you do not want. Many people focus on what they don’t want, and they receive what they don’t want. Start focusing on what you do want. Is it better health? To lose 30 lbs or quit smoking? Visualization or “daydreaming” about the outcome can help you to obtain your desires. Remember to “feel” what it would like to be 30 lbs. lighter or financially free.
  3. Your emotions lead the way. You cannot just think about what you want and do nothing about it. You must feel what it would be like to have your desire. There is no “genie of the universe” that will grant you three wishes! You must take the proper action to create the life you desire.
  4. Clean up your karma. People have different viewpoints of karma. Many people believe they have some sort of magic power to get back at someone who has wronged them. Others believe that it’s the “negative energy” that you put out into the universe that comes back to you in one form or another. Clean up your karma by apologizing to people or writing them a letter. You do not have to send the letter, but writing it will help “clear the air.”
  5. Journal. This is a great way to pinpoint exactly what it is that you want from your life. Some people like to journal because it’s therapeutic.
  6. Get outside. Nature can help you gain clarity. Sitting quietly in nature is a great way for you to get clear about what it is you desire for your life.
  7. Let go and surrender. Focus on your desires and let them go. Being obsessed with having money will only push it away from you. It’s kind of a paradox. If you desire to be a successful designer with financial freedom, then visualize yourself having many clients who pay you on time and let it go. Take the proper steps to reach your desire, but do not obsess about it.

Also, learn to let go of the past. The past only exists in your head. You cannot go back and undo your childhood or other experiences. Releasing those that may have hurt you (especially if they are deceased) will greatly benefit you.

These seven ways can help you create the life you desire. Make the decision to begin today to think and feel about what it is you want for your life. You must be as specific as possible. Once you write down what you desire, meditate on it. You may have to let some people go, which can be painful. When we grow from a “spiritual” basis and are moved into new territory, sometimes the people that we knew will not be part of our new life. Mourn the loss and move forward as best as you can. Now go and create the life you want!

Bonus!

Forgiveness. Forgiving people who have wronged you will set you free. You do not forgive the action but the attachment to those people and what they did to you. Set yourself free today and forgive others. Bless them and send them on their way. Life is too short to be hanging onto grudges or dwelling on or in the past!

Many people could use an antidote for the “disease to please.” For those who suffer from this horrible disease, there is good news. An antidote has been discovered and is readily available. The best part is that it’s free! You do not have to make an appointment with a specialist, file an insurance claim, or take medication.

First, this disease is more prevalent than many people think. Some people do not even know they have the disease to please. They walk around with the symptoms but do not recognize them. These people are said to be in the “closet” about the disease to please. They have an addiction but cannot and do not recognize it.

Living with the disease to please is horrible because you are susceptible to manipulation and abuse. Take your power back today, wipe out the disease to please, and live a better life tomorrow!

Many women diet to lose weight. The problem is they usually gain the weight back with an additional 10 pounds! Diets do not work. When you restrict yourself from foods that you enjoy, chances are you’re going to binge. This means you could end up eating an entire cheese pizza! Not only will you probably get sick, but you’ll feel guilty.

Men do not diet. They’re not about to give up anything — men do not berate themselves if the mess up. They’re going to enjoy a meal of meat and potatoes. However, the next day they’re back to watching their caloric intake.

If men have a craving, it’s usually for a juicy T-Bone steak. Women crave sweets such as chocolate cake. The steak is filling, whereas chocolate cake will not fill you up. Therefore, grab the low-fat string cheese, turkey roll-up, or cottage cheese with fruit. The alternative is a chocolate covered or peanut butter chocolate energy bar. The calories range from 210 and up. The key factor is that it will fill you up.

To keep from overeating, men will usually go for a run, play a round of basketball, shoot pool, or do some activity that they enjoy. Women on the other hand will do dishes, dust and vacuum, or some other activity that they do not enjoy. Before they know it, they’re overcome with feelings of disgust and aggravation.

Women, it’s time to do something you love instead of something that is seen as a chore. Do you draw, paint, or sing? Take up a hobby such as graphic arts, pottery, or anything that involves using your hands. You could always buy a journal and write your feelings down. Who knows, you may get to the root of why your weight loss system is not working for you.

7 Steps to Lose Weight Like Men

  1. Use heavier weights. Ladies leave the 5 lb. weights on the shelf. The heavier the weights the better. Start with 10 lb. weights and build-up from that point.
  2. Food is not a counselor. Find out why you reach for food when you’re emotional. When you eat that slice of cheesecake, you think you’ll feel better, but chances are whatever it is that you’re feeling will resurface at a later date. Tackle the issue right now instead of stuffing your feelings with food.
  3. Crave sweets — replace them with proteins. Keep low-fat string cheese in the refrigerator. Chicken and turkey are great to have on hand. Other alternatives are natural or organic peanut butter, nuts, legumes, or cottage cheese and fruit. If you have a craving for something for sweet such as chocolate, have a protein or energy bar. One will probably be enough!
  4. Do not obsess over the scale. Many women are freaked out by the scale. Weigh yourself once to three times a week! Let your clothes measure your progress. Loose fitting clothes will indicate that you’re losing inches and pounds.
  5. Deprivation is a big no-no. Do not deprive yourself the foods that you like. Try to incorporate them each week. Instead of eating the entire cookie eat half one day and save the other half for another day. Negotiation can be your friend, be diplomatic about your food choices.
  6. Do something nice for yourself. Get a massage, manicure, or pedicure. Men do stuff for themselves all of the time. They’re not about to give up their season tickets to their favorite sports team or the round of golf.
  7. Go within to understand why food comforts you. Understand why you eat the way you do. Learning to deal with issues that are you’re holding inside will benefit you in the long run. The more you put off dealing with issues, the more susceptible you are to sabotaging your weight loss.

Women if you follow these 7 steps, you’ll lose weight and keep it off. Stop beating yourself up if you happen to go over your calories one day; it’s all right. You can best believe that men do not ever beat themselves if they take in more calories. They get over it, very quickly, and so can you! Pick yourself up and start again tomorrow. Just don’t make a habit of it.

If you find yourself eating more calories, there are issues that need resolving on a deeper level. This is where going inward will help you treat the issues instead of the symptoms. It may be tough, but once you do it, you’ll feel relieved and can start living your life!

There are many books on the Law of Attraction. It all started with a little book called The Secret. Since the book and DVD came out, there have been many other books to pop-up in bookstores everywhere. This is not a new topic. Many people such as Napoleon Hill, Charles Haanel, and others wrote about the same topic approximately 70 years ago!

The world can be a topsy-turvy place to live, especially for those who feel they’ve been dropped onto planet Earth! With so much that happens in our lives on a daily basis, it’s no wonder the world is so chaotic. If it’s true that thoughts become things and we are all part of the collective consciousness, it’s no wonder that we’ve become disconnected from one another.

Each of us has their own life to lead, but the decisions we make effect all of mankind. It’s the simple law known as cause and effect which states that the “universe is energy and everything is connected.” Remember that old saying, “you get what you give out.”

Controlling ones thoughts, henceforth, mind control can be done. Learn to use your intellect versus your emotions; you’ll be better off when the time comes to make decisions in your life.

4 Golden Rules of Mind Control

  1. Meditate. Did you know that meditating for 15 minutes each day can do wonders for your mind, body, and spirit? This is a great way to gain clarity.
  2. Do yoga. This ancient practice can help you to reclaim your mind. It will help you to align your body with your spirit. Practicing yoga will strengthen your core muscles and allow you to re-center yourself.
  3. Take responsibility for your thoughts. This can be difficult at first, especially when the average person thinks thousands of thoughts per day. Notice what you’re thinking at any given moment. Are the thoughts positive or negative? Do they revolve around family, work, finances, society, or friends? You may want to hire a life coach to help you to get to the root of issues in your life.
  4. Practice deep breathing exercises. These can be done while sitting down or standing up. Cleansing breaths are proven to be effective to aid in the flow of blood, increases digestion, improves the health of the nervous system, and much more!

The next time you go to the grocery store — smile at everyone you see while thinking of a happy thought; it could be of a vacation you took, your kids, the fact that you just received a raise; anything that makes you feel happy. Observe peoples reaction to you. You may be surprised on how pleasant people can be.

The next day, go somewhere else and do the opposite, be in a bad mood but not nasty! Watch how people react to you. You’ll be amazed at the results. After you do this test, make sure to clear your energy. This is why meditating and deep breathing exercises are very useful. Also, drink plenty of water. Many people believe that water is a good way to rid the body of toxins such as negative energy – it’s not just for flushing the fat out of your system!

We do have the power to choose our thoughts on a daily basis. People often seek the answer to happiness. The answer is this: just be happy — choose to be happy. It’s that simple. You have a choice to be either happy or sad.

Sometimes, we create unnecessary dramas in our lives that would give William Shakespeare a run for his money. Many people do this because it makes them feel alive. Others do it because it’s what they’ve been doing — it’s what is familiar and comfortable. Make the decision today to gain control over your mind, tomorrow live a better life!
