I received this from one of my “friends” so I thought I would share it with all of you.

“A comedian friend of mine sent this to me a few days. It is an actual email she received from a fan of hers – this is a supposed email asking her out on a date – I think it has value because so many of us have “settled for less” in our lives. This correspondence shows a women who now knows what she is really worth.”

Read on:

“Hey lisa hi im ron love ur shows find u very very funny and kinda cute hmmm lol love to talk iwth u if possible feel free to contact me i wont bite unless u ask nicely ha but if ever in nyc lets hang out xoxo ron oh yeah im the guy in the middle” RonInNYC

Hey, Ron,

Got your e-mail and wanted to get back to you. You’re obviously a fan of mine and a very handsome gentleman, but just wanted to give you some feedback on how to approach a woman of quality like myself:

1) First of all, Ron, love that you find me “very very funny.” You leading with a compliment is a good thing. As you know, women eat that up!

2) Secondly, you state you find me “kinda cute.” Hmmm. “Kinda cute”? Didn’t you mean to say “Hot”? “Sexy?” “Voluptuous?” No? What about “Attractive”? Any of the above would’ve been fine — of course, without the “kinda.” Hell, I woulda thought it was “kinda cute” if you said I was “Cute.” But the “kinda”? That makes me wanna spin again! Huge turnoff. If you’re gonna give me a compliment, give me a real one. If you don’t want to give me a compliment in a certain area, don’t even bring the area up.

3) You say you’d “love to talk with me.” THAT, I like. I love to talk via email or over the phone with nice chocolate daddies like yourself, and would be pleased to make your acquaintance in that manner. So, before you decide if you’d like to answer this, please put plenty of prepaid minutes on your cell phone and get ready to talk — and by “talk,” I mean “talk” and not “text.” I only text in emergencies. I TALK to guys I want to get to know better. Phone contact helps avoid the emotional walls put up by texting and lets a person get to know someone better by actually hearing the other person’s voice.

4) Congratulations, Ron! You get mucho points for “I won’t bite unless you ask nicely.” Although I’ve heard this before, I still find it sexy and look forward to being bitten if things should work out. Great way to flirt without being overtly sexual. That overtly sexual crap is a HUGE turnoff for someone in my position. So, you’re a clear winner here.

5) Regarding your picture, all men should learn from you. Always surround yourself when taking a photo by less attractive men. That way, when looking at the photo, a woman will say, “Please let him be the guy in the middle,” and will sigh with relief when they read that indeed the guy in the middle is you. Keep those friends of yours around — you smoke them out of the water!

6) One last bit of advice: “Let’s hang out” isn’t asking me on a date. I don’t “hang out” with men. I “go out” with them. So if you’d like to take me on a proper date — and IF you don’t have a significant other — you can ask me nicely to go out with you after we’ve conversed a bit. “Hanging out” is something you do with your buddies or ho’s you’re not serious about — and I’m not interested in being either.

Oh, and just to help you out, here is the English translation of the message you sent me. Trust me: educated white women LOVE them some punctuation and capitalization.

Hey Lisa!

Hi. I’m Ron. I love your shows and I find you very, very funny and smokin’ hot! Hmmm . . .

I’d love to talk with you, if possible. Feel free to contact me — I won’t bite unless you ask nicely! And if you’re ever in New York City, let’s go out. I’d love to take you out on the town.

xoxo,
Ron

P.S. Oh yeah, I’m the guy in the middle.

Well, Ron, hope you’ve learned something from my note. If you’re still interested in corresponding, you can e-mail me at this address. I find you very cute — handsome, even — and I hope you read this with a sense of humor and sense of understanding. Either way, I wish you nothing but the best!

XO,

There’s nothing like getting a massage. If you haven’t had a massage, schedule one today because it can do wonders for your mind, body, and soul. You’d be surprised how a massage can “loosen” you up! Plus, it’s great for your health and wellness.

I must admit that I never had a massage before in my life. I’ve always heard about people getting them, but I wasn’t sure if they were for me. I figured that life’s too short, and I may as well get a massage. After all, it could probably help my mind, body, and soul.

Health and wellness is important to me. I’ve since learned that it’s ALL RIGHT for me to do things for myself and NOT always do things for others. This goes against what we’re taught in our society. We’re taught to sacrifice our needs for the sake of others. Yeah, it doesn’t work. We can become resentful of the people we help because we really didn’t want to help them in the first place. Our helping someone else didn’t come from a place of love. I now do things for others because I want to do so NOT because society or someone else says I MUST do so.

The mind, body, and soul are connected. I do my best to keep these connected and aligned. This brings me to getting a massage. Yes, I had my first massage on June 25, 2009. It may sound strange to some people because they get them all of the time, but this was my first one.

I had my massage in my home, and it was fantastic. I met Carolyn at the June 2009 Life Coaching weekend training course at SWIHA (Southwest Institute of Healing Arts) which is located in Tempe, AZ. At the end of the weekend, Carolyn passed out her business cards. She mentioned that she does massages and travels to your home. I decided, “what the heck,” I may as well give it a try because it could do wonders for my mind, body, and soul.

Carolyn was very professional. She set-up her table, we chatted for a bit, and then it was time for the massage. I had a wonderful 1-hour massage. The best part was the massaging of my feet, my hands, and arms. As a writer, I do a lot of writing. My hands and arms can become tired. I do yoga and stretching exercises to stay flexible. The massage loosened up my hands and arms and my feet felt fabulous!

I would recommend Carolyn. If you live in the Phoenix, AZ area, contact Carolyn via email at carolyn.a.baker@gmail.com. Do yourself a favor and schedule a massage today. Tomorrow, you’ll feel like a new man or woman! Don’t forget to tell her that Rebecca Sebek referred you!

Many people compare manifesting your dreams and goals to planting and harvesting a garden. However, gardens do not take that long to grow. You till the soil, plant the seeds, cover them, and then water the seeds. Some people even use MIRACLE GROW to speed up the growth process and to enrich the soil. It does not take 10 to 25 years to grow a garden!

People who are trying to manifest the lives they desire are often told to think of their life as a garden. This is true to a certain point — gardens do not take that long to grow! Telling people this can dampen their spirits because theoretically gardens do not take that long to grow.

Yes, in order to manifest your desires, you must “plant the seeds of your desires.” You must cultivate a positive and powerful mind-set and keep tending to your “desire garden.” But, how long does it take before you see results? Some people see results straight-away, some people do not. What does this mean? They’re cultivating a powerful, positive mind-set. So why does it take so long?

Maybe the universe is trying to find the right people to come into your life. Perhaps they are not in your area — they could be thousands miles away from where you live. This is where patience comes into play. Yes, it is a virtue!

A garden does not take that long to grow. If you want to manifest your desires in your life do the following. First, till your “mental soil” — clear out the weeds — strangling your mind. You must have a clean mind before you can plant your desires. Second, plant your seeds of desires. Finally, let your desires go and grow within your mental garden. This is where people (including myself) get tripped up. Sometimes we get in our own way. Let go and let the “powers at be” (God, universe, spirit, or whatever name you give to a higher power) do its job and bring to you that which you desire. Think of it this way — it’s one less thing on your to do list!

Many people are overweight. This season of The Biggest Loser has the largest contestants on it. Mike, an 18-year old kid is the youngest player ever to be on The Biggest Loser. He tipped the scales at close to 390 lbs! Jillian and Bob do a good job by helping the people get to the “root or core” of their weight. This is the key. Being overweight has nothing to do with the fat around your belly, it has to do with what is on the inside of you.

For example, Mike discovered that he has a lot of anger towards his father Ron. Mike could not understand why his father would not do something about his weight so he could be an example to his kids. Mike’s mom was also overweight, but did something about it seven or eight years ago.

Luckily for Mike, Ron took full responsibility and welcomed his son’s anger. This is very rare. Kudos to Ron for stepping up and owning his part in his son’s battle with weight.

Reasons you’re overweight

Too much on your “shoulders” — everyone depends on you.

You are comforting yourself because you’re not feeling loved.

You feel that it’s hopeless to lose the weight.

You don’t have support of family and friends.

Afraid that people will not accept the new you.

You may feel unworthy.

The key to successful weight loss is to find out the WHY and WHAT of your weight. Why are you carrying the extra weight? What is holding your back from losing it? Why haven’t you taken the time to focus on you? What do you have to lose besides the weight?

When you decide to lose the weight, do it for the right reasons. The number one reason is YOU! It’s great if you want to lose weight because you want to be around for your kids, but if you do not do the “inner work” first, what’s the point of losing weight? You’ll just gain the weight back! Do the inner work first and then create a plan to lose the weight in order to reach your goal of freedom!

This may sound like science fiction to some people, but there have been documented cases about cellular memory.

Cellular Memory and Organ Transplants

Here’s an excerpt from Candace Pert, author of Molecules of Emotion: Why You Feel the Way You Feel, says, “…Memories are stored not only in the brain, but in a psychosomatic network extending into the body . . . all the way out along pathways to internal organs and the very surface of our skin.”

Pert suggests thoughts and memories still remain at the unconscious level. They can, however, become conscious, thus making it possible of a physiological connection between your memories, organs and mind.

Is it possible that you can take on the emotions and thoughts of a person’s heart or liver that was put into your body? The following is from San Francisco Medicine, “…Paul Pearsall, MD, a psychoneuroimmunologist and author of The Heart’s Code, has researched the transference of memories through organ transplantation. After interviewing nearly 150 heart and other organ transplant recipients, Pearsall proposes the idea that cells of living tissue have the capacity to remember.”

Cellular Memory and Past Lives

Cellular memory is can be defined as whatever happen in our lives is recorded within the cells of our body. If you experience anger, body pain, or unhappiness, these would be recorded within the cells of your body. Some people take this concept further — believing that you carry with you the pain of previous lives. Past lives are another hot, controversial topic. Some people believe in them, some don’t. It’s a personal belief.

If we are made up of individual cells, wouldn’t make sense that these living and breathing organism contain memory? Many people would say yes — skeptics will say no. Perhaps we will not know for sure until we depart this Earth, but it’s something to think about if you’re feeling “off” within your body. Maybe it’s not the “present you” that is feeling anger or pain. Perhaps the “previous you” from another lifetime is wreaking havoc on your current life.

Do you believe in cellular or organ memory? Why? Why not?

Oprah’s March 25, 2009 show featured Dr. Oz (of course) who went to Wake Forest to see their new findings in regenerative tissues. They can take a heart from a pig, make a mold and use your cells to grow a new heart. If you had the choice between a pacemaker or a pigs heart, which would you choose? What about cellular memory? Does this mean you’ll take on the characteristics of a pig.

Corporate health and wellness is very popular. As economic uncertainty grows among Americans, so does their stress. This leads to other health issues such as headaches, heart disease, mental illness, and much more. Americans are more stressed out than ever. To keep their employees sane, employers are implementing health and wellness programs.

Employees will benefit from corporate health and wellness plans. It helps to clear the air and talk about what you’re feeling. Make a phone call and schedule an appointment to speak to someone. Get it out of your system once and for all.

The one thing that continues to rise is the stress the level of Americans. Our paychecks may not increase, but at least we can count on our government to increase our stress levels! See they’re good for something. Just kidding…

Seriously, corporate health and wellness programs are great for employees. If you’re feeling stressed out — use the corporate gym. Maybe the gym has a punching ball and bag you could beat the heck out of it. It will be a great workout and you’ll burn fat fast. It’s better to take your frustrations out on the bag because you could take it out on your body by eating a gallon of ice cream!

Many companies are implementing corporate health and wellness programs. Some programs include medical checkups, gym, mental health, books, and much more. Take advantage of these programs because they may not last.

Finally, if you’re looking for a job, keep an eye out for companies that offer corporate health and wellness programs. This is one perk you do not want to pass up. Anything companies can do to keep employees sane is a good thing. Remember that you cannot control what others do, but you can control your actions and emotions.

If your metabolism has slowed, change your diet and exercise. This can increase your metabolism and you’ll start to lose weight. Consider cleansing your body. Detoxing your body will free it from harmful substances that build up over a period of time.

Before you know it, you’ll be running 10 miles a day.

Being in a bad mood can be bad for your health. Frowning all of the time can leave your mouth full of lines. If you’re going to have lines, why not have laugh lines instead of frowning ones? Remember, you always have a choice. You can either stay in a bad mood or snap out of it. If you don’t you could earn the nickname Ms. or Mr. Crabby Pants!

They say laughter is the best medicine. If this is true, why are so many people in bad moods? They also say misery loves company. You may consider being more mindful of the company you keep. The people you hang out with could be slowly killing you. The more stress you are under, the more pressure your heart is under.

You can apply the old age wisdom of mind over matter. There is no reason for you to stay in a bad mood all day. You can choose to move to a place that feels better. When you’re in a bad mood, you put your body in the “flight or fright” mode. Your muscles will become tense and your pulse races. This is not good for your body.

Tips to Get Out of a Bad Mood

Laugh.

Take a walk.

Surf YouTube for funny videos.

Think about something to be grateful for

Just smile.

Listen to music.

A change of scenery can do wonders for you. Go for a drive or walk through the park. Getting out in nature will snap you out of a bad mood. Breathing the fresh air and feeling the sun on your face will lift your spirits.

If you’re a coffee lover, go for a great cup of coffee at your favorite café. Breath in the deep, rich aroma of the coffee. Pickup a local newspaper or buy a magazine, and you’ll make a speedy recovery. You’ll be so relaxed that you’ll forget what set you off.

Journaling is a great way to vent your anger and frustrations. Getting it on paper is better than taking it out on someone else. If you are susceptible to bad moods, you may discover what is causing them. It could be that you are feeling stuck in your life and you’re ready for change.

Do not stay in a bad mood because life is too short. You can be living life to its fullest. The next time you feel a “bad mood” coming on strong, stop it before it gets out of control. Count to 10, take a deep breath, and say to yourself “this to shall pass.” Give it a try and see what happens.

You can avoid a rocky start to indoor rock climbing by learning the “ins and outs” of rock climbing. Indoor rock climbing is not that easy. Sure the Travel Channel showcases indoor rock climbing establishments, but it takes a little know how.

If you find yourself in Phoenix, AZ, check out The Phoenix Rock Gym. This is a great place to go indoor rock climbing. However, if you are a beginner, you may be overwhelmed. It will behoove you to know the “basics” of rock climbing. This includes knowing how to tie a figure 8 knot, understanding rock climbing lingo, and most importantly knowing that you are on your own. The staff shows you the equipment and goes over it and then you and your friend are good to go. If you’re lucky, a staff member will go over the equipment and how to tie a figure 8 knot more than once. They do not give you a helmet to wear — you may want to bring your own. Otherwise, good luck to you and don’t look down.

Rock climbing is a very physical sport. It requires the use of both lower and upper body strength. Those with long arms will naturally want to grab and pull themselves up. Wrong! Use your legs otherwise you’ll become tired fast.

Indoor rock climbing walls have different levels of difficulty. Most have beginner and advanced walls. Some of the walls have “fun” labels such as death! If you’re a beginner, you may want to stay away from the death wall.

If you are serious about rock climbing, you may want to invest in some rock climbing lessons. It’s better to take one or two classes and learn the ropes from a professional. When you go to a rock climbing gym you’ll know what you’re doing.
