On April 18, I met Bob Harper (from NBC’s The Biggest Loser) at Changing Hands Bookstore. He was there to promote his new book Are You Ready!: To Take Charge, Lose Weight, Get in Shape, and Change Your Life Forever. I think there were over 100 people at the store! It was some night! The women went nuts for Bob. I felt like I was “backstage” at a rock concert. And…Betti Sue, Ali Vincent’s (winner of The Biggest Loser) mom showed up! She is very nice and personable. Betti Sue took time to speak with people and even signed Bob’s book for people. BONUS! Bob’s and Betti Sue’s autograph! Go Pink Team!

Anyway, Betti Sue told how Ali had a bell by her bedside at the ranch and each morning Ali hit the bell and said “Believe It To Be It.” Ali truly believed that she was going to be the winner of The Biggest Loser! Ali also used the “visualization” technique to make her dream come true. She visualized what she would be wearing, being on the scale at the finale, and the confetti falling on the stage. It worked! Ali was the first woman to win The Biggest Loser! more…

Eat Well & Be Happy with Genisoy. What a great statement! I just discovered Genisoy at Fry’s. I love Genisoy’s Soy Crisps! I tried the Ranch flavor (bought at Fry’s) and Rich Cheddar Cheese (at Fry’s and online). They are absolutely fabulous. The crisps are light and do taste great!

I have yet to try other products by Genisoy. I would like to try the Trail Mix, Crispy Dippers, Soy Nuts, Soy Tortilla Chips Nacho, and maybe a Genisoy Protein Bar. I’ll think about the Protein Bar. Most Protein Bars taste awful, that’s just my opinion. I think I had one that tasted good, but I cannot remember the name. Oops! Anyway, when I try another product by Genisoy, I will give you an “update.”

Snacking gets a “bad” rap! Not all snacks are bad for you. And, it is everything in moderation. Try not to deprive yourself a snack if you want it. Your options are to eat the entire snack or take a taste and put the rest back in the refrigerator, freezer, or cupboard. Of course, there are options like Genisoy!

It’s Earth Day! I try to do my best to help out Mother Earth. I do love nature! Today, I went to the park and fed the ducks. A “mama duck” had seven ducklings! They are so cute and getting big. I love going to the park because I am surrounded by nature. Ahh! Nature is very calming to me.

Anyway, I plan to get back to recycling my plastics, cans, glass, etc…The apartment complex that I live in does not have recycling on site. I will be honest with you, it drives me crazy! Plus, Arizona recycling laws are different from Ohio recycling laws. I will go on my city’s website and look at the “rules” and where the closest recycling center is. Mesa, which is five minutes down the road from me, has a recycling area but they only accept specific items. My goal is to purchase a condo or townhouse. This way I will be able to recycle with ease. I will set my intentions on this and sit back and watch it happen. Ok, it will require me to take “action” to make this happen, but it will be inspired action! more…

I graduated with a Masters of Science, Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Let me tell you, I am getting my money’s worth! We often discussed in our classes whether or not leadership can be taught or if it is something you just have within you. Lately, I have been asking myself this question. Here’s why…

I am an events volunteer, and I signed up with MovieWork Now Casting, Inc. as a “talent” to earn some extra cash. Sweet! So far, I have had two auditions and worked one event. And there it is! I worked an event that was eventful. Ha! Ha! At least I made some extra money this weekend! more…

I have been thinking about how far I’ve come since March 2007 and September 2007. I know it is not good to dwell in “the past,” but I could not help myself. I was also thinking about the past years and how much time I spent being “miserable!” For the record, I spent way too much time in my “Les Misérables” story. But, it was my story. If you are interested, check out iTunes: All Your Music, All In One Place for the music to the musical “Les Misérables.”

Anyway, I was thinking about how some people say that “they would not go back and change the past if they were given the opportunity to do so. It is kind of like the “if I knew then what I know now” syndrome. Most people say that they would not be where they are if it wasn’t for the mistakes they made. Or how they may not have met the people that they did. Yeah, right! I would go back in a “heartbeat!” Are you kidding me? If I could avoid half of the stuff that I went through knowing now what I did not know then, you better believe I would go back. I would be on board the H.G. Wells Time Machine back to my future faster than “warp speed!” Please…

I could tell you what I would do if I went back, but where would that get me? I choose to focus on the present. I cannot change the past, but I can “create” my present and pave the way for my future! I envision myself with a very BRIGHT future!

Hey, speaking of going back to your future, I just love the “Back to The Future” movies with Michael J. Fox . If you are interested, you can pickup all three of them at Buy.com. Awesome!

Oy! It’s been a “rocky” couple of days. Life has its ups and downs. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster ride that can give the roller coasters at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH a “run” for their money. Speaking of Cedar Point, the park will be opening soon! I believe the park opens on May 10! I personally love The Blue Streak! Maximum airtime, oh yeah! Sweet!

Anyway, I am trying to “persevere” and just be. It can be daunting at times, but I signed on for the “change your thoughts, change your life.” Emphasis on “change your life.” I always thought of myself as someone who could accept “change,” and go with the flow. I guess this time around it is a “wee” bit of a challenge because the change involves my LIFE! For me, this is totally different then switching to a new computer system. I know it probably doesn’t make sense. Switching to a new computer system can be daunting and affect my life, but I am comfortable with technology. And there it is! The word comfortable! Hmmm…I guess something that is “comfortable” does not provide the growth necessary to achieve ones dreams and or goals. Interesting…

I think it is time for me to chill with some music. Maybe a little Puddle of Mudd, Madonna, Peter Murphy, Rihanna, The Ramones, Social Distortion, Mary J. Blige, Alice in Chains, and any other artist that I can think of today. Thank goodness for iTunes: All Your Music, All In One Place. At least I know where to find my music!

So I was listening to Hay House Radio this morning and a “Hay House” moment with Coach on Call Cheryl Richardson (life coach) started to play. Cheryl briefly told of someone who said that “your resume will not be read at your funeral.” And that your boss “will not show up saying what a good worker you were and how dedicated your were to the company. I can add to that with these: “how you never took your vacation or always came in even when you were sick.”

Isn’t this the truth. Ok, some people may have co-workers that will show up at your funeral and perhaps one or two of you will have the boss that shows up. But, will the CEO or CFO of the company be at your funeral?

What’s my point? My point is not to be consumed by your work. Enjoy your life! Take your vacation days, stay home if you are sick (really sick), and most importantly remember that your job does not define you as a person. You define yourself!

OMG! What a day! What a week! First, let me say that an upgrade that I chose to do was not as easy as 1, 2, 3 and did not take 5 minutes! I have entered into the wonderful world of web design and let me tell you, I cannot believe all that is necessary to maintain a website! Who knew! I certainly did not. I have a greater appreciation for all you web “writers” designers out there.

Thank goodness The_Real_Tech_Kitten was able to help me out! Kudos. I am so grateful for all her help and support. She is very patient and understanding. Furthermore, any explanations and instructions I receive are straightforward so I can easily understand the “lingo.”

This brings me to hosting companies. If you are “technologically” advanced, that’s great. But, more and more people these days are starting online businesses who may not be that advanced. With that said, I certainly hope that “TECH SUPPORT” will be just that. If you are new to the wonderful world of web design, you may want to go with a hosting company that offers three or six month service (try it before you buy it) versus signing up for the one or two year service. I signed up for a one year service. Oh! Well. Live and learn. If you are not happy with your hosting company, shop around and read reviews. Here’s two for you, Omnis Network #1 Web Hosting Plan and 1&1 Internet. Good Luck!

Thanks to The_Real_Tech_Kitten’s HELP my website is up and running, AGAIN!

Techie in the making,

All right, so I am having a “moment.” I keep thinking about MONEY! Back in my accounting days, I was miserable at my job for many reasons, but I never worried about paying my rent (first apartment), mortgage (bought a townhouse), or any of my other monthly expenses. My luxuries are few and far between, and I had the “funds” to pay for them as well. I now know my “accounting days” could have been less stressful if I had a better “outlook,” but accounting was not my passion. However, I made a decent salary and never “freaked out” that I would not be able to pay my monthly expenses. My necessities were taken care of and I did not constantly think about paying for them.

Back in September 2007, I chose to follow my passion and I am wondering if it is worth it. I know that sounds hypocritical because if you read my other blogs, I “jumped” onto the “change your thoughts, change your life” band wagon. In addition, I have been reading and listening to others who come from the “metaphysical” perspective. more…
